Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and metrics
Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) can affect site layouts, planting plans and planning submissions. We assess baseline habitats and proposed changes using appropriate habitat surveys, condition assessments and the relevant statutory biodiversity metric. We help you understand whether a development is subject to BNG and what evidence may be required.
Our biodiversity net gain services
- Baseline and post-development habitat assessment and mapping
- Statutory biodiversity metric calculations and trading-rule review
- Advice on avoidance, on-site habitat creation and off-site unit requirements
- Biodiversity gain plans and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans where required
What to consider
BNG requirements vary by project and exemptions can apply. We assess the specific planning proposal rather than assuming every site needs a metric.
